Sometimes, the best ideas are just evolutions of other ideas. I'd decided to photograph dice, Five evolutions later I'm inverting a picture of crystal dice balancing on each other in the dark, illuminated only by my flashlight. Nothing like what I planned, but far better than it too. I like it so much, I put it on my cell phone to take with me everywhere. Full res 1600x1200.

Actually I never used them in all the time I've had them. Far too worried about them chipping and breaking. But they are pretty.

When I first saw this image I thought it was an action shot - a toss of the dice. The diagonal band of light leading away from them, up and to the left, makes the image dynamic. Very nice.

Wow that's so shiny. @_@ Where did you buy them from?

It must have been very difficult to get this shot right, so I just have to say good job on capturing it at the right time. :o

Well, while I could just tell you where I got them, (The Games People Play) I fear that it wouldn't help you. In fact, when I got them, the shop didn't even know they had them, and they only had one. So they spend a couple days trying to find its mate. They are in fact not normal dice either. They're crystal, with apparently hand drilled pips.

The pips are the key to this though. The 1 is slightly deeper and wider than the others, and it was only through that I was able to get it set. Then I had to tiptoe around to get everything else right for the camera.

Now that definitely adds some...otherworldly significance to this whole shebang. And makes the imagination have a li'l tickle.

Pretty damn cool, and time well spent. Or at least, the product is pretty kickass and impressive.

It even sounds like the basis for the introduction of some kind of fantasy....
